French and Interlingua

                            apertium-fra-ina
===============================================================================

This is an Apertium language pair for translating between French and
Interlingua. What you can use this language package for:

* Translating between French and Interlingua
* Morphological analysis of French and Interlingua
* Part-of-speech tagging of French and Interlingua

For information on the latter two points, see subheading "For more
information" below

Requirements
===============================================================================

You will need the following software installed:

* lttoolbox (>= 3.3.0)
* apertium (>= 3.3.0)
* vislcg3 (>= 0.9.9.10297)
* apertium-fra (in languages/apertium-fra)
* apertium-ina (in incubator/apertium-ina)

The monolingual dictionaries should be compiled as follows:
$  cd ../apertium-fra
$  ./autogen.sh
$  make
$  cd ../apertium-ina
$  ./autogen.sh
$  make

If this does not make any sense, we recommend you look at: apertium.org

Compiling
===============================================================================

Given the requirements being installed, you should be able to just run:

$ ./configure
$ make
# make install

You can use ./autogen.sh instead of ./configure if you're compiling from
SVN as follows:

$ ./autogen.sh --with-lang1=../apertium-fra --with-lang2=../apertium-ina
$ make

Testing
===============================================================================

If you are in the source directory after running make, the following
commands should work:

$  echo "Je mange et je lis." | apertium -d . fra-ina
Io mangia e io lege.

$  echo "Le canes parla." | apertium -d . ina-fra
Les chiens parlent@

After installing somewhere in $PATH, you should be able to do e.g.

$ echo "Je mange et je lis." | apertium fra-ina
Io mangia e io lege.
