Interface List
List device interfaces, their population and graphs or set individual thresholds and options.
Listing Interfaces
- If the interface status is discovered, the type icon is imbued with the respective color (not realtime). It'll be "admin down" (or 0), if it's been skipped in every discovery. Interfaces of controlled access points are not polled and set to unknown (or 128).
- The population takes you to the Nodes-List where you get detailed information on the connected nodes.
- The graph size corresponds to setting in User-Profile.
- By default a port type and status distribution report is shown
Configure Interfaces
This module allows for configuring all listed interfaces at once by clicking Update. Just make sure, you filter the desired interfaces first.
Set traffic alert threshold in % of bandwidth
Set # of MAC addresses threshold
Set # of absolute or relative broadcast threshold
- Enter 0 to avoid alerts
- # of MACs allows for detecting attacks to turn a switch into a hub as well
Set discovery and alert options:
- "Reset" in the -Discover- selectbox clears the linktype field
- "Multiple Devices" enters MUL in linktype, with that the discovery allows multiple CDP/LLDP neighbors (e.g. on multipoint connections)
- "No Population" enters NOP in linktype, with that any nodes will be ignored (avoid population on trunks/port-channels)
- "Skip Loop" stops alerting on links within a device (e.g. on stacks)
- "Reset" in the -Alert- selectbox clears the upper bits in the status field
- "Skip Optics" sets bit-32 in the status field, to avoid notifications on optical levels
- "Skip Status" sets bit-64 in the status field, to avoid notifications on status changes
If you set a comment, but make sure the discovery skips IF-comments (e.g. -Sc) or they'll be overwritten.
