What is KBasic?
---------------

KBasic is a powerful programming language, which is simply intuitive and fast easy to learn. It is a further 
bridge between Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. KBasic a new programming language, a further basic dialect, is related to 
Visual Basic 6 and Java. More exactly said KBasic s an object-oriented and event-controlled programming language, 
developed by KBasic Software (www.kbasic.com), is particularly for designed for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux and for the needs 
by GUI-developers and has thus a strength in the GUI-application development. 

For C/C++ developers BASIC has generally a bad reputation as child programming language that is not true becomes
clearly with KBasic. With KBasic you can write nearly all applications, which perhaps would have been written 
by you in C/C++, if there were not KBasic.



How to get KBasic?
-------------------

* KBasic Professional Version

KBasic Professional can be purchased by you. You can get it on www.kbasic.com and it 
costs 24.95 Euro (if would like the license key only + documentation in pdf format, roughly $35 US Dollar) 
or  59.95 EUR (roughly $85 USD - if you would like to have CD + printed documentation + including shipping world wide + packaging). 
The buyer gets three programs: one for Windows and one for Linux and one for Mac OS X; and a license which is guilty 
for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X and the right to sell and deploy as many self-written KBasic programs as he or she wish.

* Installation of KBasic / Installation description / System needs

KBasic is easy to install, has got an installer and needs all in all about 200 MB space on your harddisc. 

Officially supported are: 
- Windows Vista/XP/2000
- Linux with KDE >= 4.0 (or Qt >= 4.4) or other Unixes see www.kbasic.com for more details
- Mac OS X (>= 10.3.9)

KBasic will not run on the following systems:
- Windows 95

You need at least 64 MB RAM and your CPU should run at least at 400 Mhz. 
Screen resolution: 1024*768, 32bit



* Starting KBasic

You can start KBasic by doing one of the following: 
- on Linux, select KBasic in the program menu
- on Windows, select KBasic in the program menu
- on Mac OS X, select KBasic in the program menu

Now that you are up and running: After you start KBasic, the KBasic main window appears. 
This window is used for accessing other windows, creating program elements, and viewing
the contents of program elements. 



How to Report A Bug?
--------------------

If you think you have found a bug in KBasic, we would like to hear about it so that we can fix it. 
Before reporting a bug, please check the FAQ if the issue is already known. 

Always include the following information in your bug report: 

* The KBasic's version
* The name and version number of your operating system 

If the problem you are reporting is only at visible run-time, try to create a small 
test program that shows the problem when run. Often, such a program can be created with some minor changes.
