Pikselo natively can only open images in OpenRaster format. Thus, when there is a need to work with images in a different format, they must be imported before can be edited with Pikselo.
Once an image is imported from a file, Pikselo does not attempt to save the image to the same file. Instead, when saving the image to disk, it will ask the user a new file name to use to store the image in OpenRaster.
To import an image:
From the main window, choose File ▸ Import Image….
Browse to the folder where the image file to import is located.
From the list of files at the center of the dialog, select the image file that should be imported.
Click Import
The file formats that Pikselo recognizes and is able to import images from depends on the libraries installed on your system. The most widely supported formats are:
