Of course, 'Carp' can't guarantee the latter. . You can also alter the way the output and logic of 'Carp' works, by changing some global variables in the 'Carp' namespace. This behaviour is consistent with using a standalone 'eval', but it is not consistent with 'try'/'finally' patterns found in other programming languages, such as Java, Python, Javascript or C#.
