Namdhinggo SIL Font
========================

This file provides detailed information on the Namdhinggo SIL font. This
information should be distributed along with the Namdhinggo SIL font and
any derivative works.

Basic Font Information
----------------------

The Limbu, or Kirat Sirijonga, script is used by around 400,000 people in Nepal.

The goal for this product was to provide a single Unicode-based font
that would contain all Limbu characters. This font was designed to support
literacy and materials development work in the Limbu language. In addition,
there is provision for other Latin characters and symbols. This font makes use
of the OpenType smart font technology. At this time, there is little (or no)
support for the Limbu script in commercial rendering systems. One implication
is that the OpenType implementation in the font is not optimal. However, the
font does render correctly on many applications. Please see the on-line
documentation for a list of applications that render properly and those that
do not.

One font from this typeface family is included in this release:

     * Namdhinggo SIL Regular

The font files themselves contain basic source data for the fonts. Future
releases will likely include source data in additional formats, such as a
FontLab database.
